Howdy U All ! 3 weeks ago i couldn't have told u what a Datsun Roadster was ! That was before i just sold a car that i normally do, find a broken auto cheep, fix it and sell it. This 1967 Datsun Roadster was listed on craigslist local sitting on a trailer that said project ! I've never heard of 1. But it looked like something i could fix up. I was told by the owner that the previous owner left the country and he just had to many projects to start another and didn't want it to sit out in the weather. So i bought it . The car hadn't run in a few years, there was no top. no interior except the front seats. the starter was off but in the trunk, the gas tank was rusted and in the trunk so my story begins !
Does it run ? Get starter our of trunk ck it out, Its good so i put it on! Will it turn over ? YES ! Does it get fire ? YES ! GET SOME GAS ! GET SOME GAS ! Will it start ? YESS ! ITS ALIVE. Not i can't stop. I mean i can't stop ! No brakes ! clutch cyl dry. The dull red paint has pits and cracks so i order Clutch master cyl and slave cyl., take gastank to have rotted, Now i start to sand and sand until my fingers have no prints. I get clutch parts in and working. Just put 1st coaf of epoxy primer on tonight. Brakes are in bad shape as cyl and adjusters rusted. thanx for being here for me,S will get pictures up asap. 67 SPL31105429 JEFF OKC

Welcome! It sounds like you are properly enthused. Warning - do NOT drive this car if your intent is to "flip it" to another buyer. If you drive it you will get hooked, bond, and not be able to resell it!
Welcome to the addiction.

And another love affair begins! It's fun to read your enthusiasm as you experience success. These really are fun cars, and the Roadster community makes it even that much better. We're here to help, whether you end up keeping it or redoing her so someone else can join the family... But like Notoptoy said, if you drive it you'll probably keep it... They get under more than just your finger nails, they get under your skin!

I Gotta tell ya guys its my love affair for auto's that thrills me sense i was a kid growing up in the stix on Grand Lake in far N.E. Oklahoma. There wasn't but very few cars that made it through the backroads where i grew up. Iwas raised Ford Born and Ford Bread. My old pappy said before he left this ol world' There are 3 people in this world that arn't worth a darn and thats a 'LIAR, A THIEF AND A S.O.B. THAT SHOOTS QUAIL ON THE GROUND!
Enough about the old days. Just wanted to let u know that as soon as i had the clutch in it rolled out my gate without brakes ! I'LL worry about stopping later ! LOL Other than a clicking sound when i got to 3rd gear everything felt and sounded ok. What would that be ? kind of a clatter but only 3rd ! 1 other thing is my rear brake cyl are powder! Guess thats from water in the lines. I read here that the 510 wheel cyl will work on 311 rear break cyl only needs adaptor from metric to standard hookup to line ? Is this true ? If not 3/4 will workif its 13/16 or 11/16 piston ?
