Hey guys, my name is Austin and I've been reading this forum for a while (since I acquired my roadster) but never felt the need to post anything until I got my car running (which was a few days ago). I hope I can gain some help from you guys as well as offer my assistance for anything I ran into before you guys (unlikely)
She's a '68 1600 with a U20 in her and a 5-speed hooked to that. when I disassembled her I realized someone ran her with the timing chain off (most likely the P.O.) and the valves nicked the pistons. I had a couple bent valves replaced and had a valve job done on all, and threw it back on the car. I went through everything I could without pulling the block and threw it all back together over time. She just started a few days ago, though the timing needs A LOT of tweaking. I'm looking forward to driving her and hopefully trying my hand at autocross, and if funds allow, vintage racing. Thanks for the support and I am glad to be part of the roadster community
