Introducing my new roadster

Hey everyone,
If you have seen my other thread here, you know I'm not a "new" member. Back in July I got a 66 Roadster that caught fire and insurance claimed her as a total loss. But I now bring good news!

I posted a wanted ad on craigslist, and within a day I got an email from a guy that said he has a 1970 1600 Roadster he bought from the original owner a couple months ago. He had saved it from sitting underneath a tarp and got it up and running again. Its not the prettiest thing, but I think it's a better start than my previous roadster.

The body is very straight with basically hardly any rust to be found. The engine runs strong. Everything looks to be original parts (other than the roll bar?). All gauges and electrical works flawlessly. I'm very pleased, and super excited to start playing around with it.

I was also given these. Can anybody tell me what Z series these are off of?

Nice car. one question Trav, a better "Start"?
Advice,,,
Replace the positive and negative battery cables.
Replace all of the fuses, inspect and clean the fuse block.
Replace the fuel lines, filter and clamps. add a second fuel filter after the pump.
Inspect all the wires to the coil, ballast, and distributor, repair and insulate as required.
Inspect the wires to the starter, clean, repair and insulate as required.
Drive the crap out of it. :smt006

Thanks everyone. Also, I really appreciated the help from the guys that were helping me find a new roadster. I dare say... you are much nicer than the Subaru guys on the other forums...

Congrats! And yes, you won't likely find a better bunch of gear heads or non-gear heads than here! It's part of being a true Datsun Roadster Owner!

I think it looks great, too! Headrests and everything! (mine didn't come with those)
Interesting to see the changes from year to year. Like, the way the rear reflectors "fell down" to the side of the rear lights...
There does seem to be many Roadster fans up here in the PNW.
This should be fun...!

I actually like the look of the Z hub caps on a roadster.
My 67.5 had them.
If you don't upgrade the wheels they are a nice design element to connect the heritage of the z to the roadster.
