New to roadsters

Hello everyone, my name is Jason. I live in Maryland just outside of DC. I recently picked up a 67 1600 that the previous owner started restoring. It is inoperable at this time (I will post pictures soon). I believe it had the ground on the starter melt the wiring harness. The previous owner started removing components (so I got several big boxes of parts.) Hopefully, I can post some pictures an get some help identifying some of them. I hope to get it running in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone know of a good place to get the tachometer repaired? It appears to function, just needs a cleaning and new needle.

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Welcome! This forum is the best. You can get loads of help here and should be able to get loads of local hands on help as well. Beer and pizza are great incentives to get people to show up and help.
good luck!

Welcome. Check the amp guage as that is often what becomes an expensive fuse after it fries your harness. Sorry.

Welcome.
Sometimes a used working tach is the solution. 67.5 is a black bezel IIRC, but otherwise the same as a 66 and 67, so that and some paint paint can be a solution.

I am pretty sure I have a 67.5 tach in the garage.

Welcome Jason, as you can see, people here are a great resource. Hopefully you will be up and running shortly. In the meantime, post pictures, no matter what condition. You'll enjoy them even more once you are on the road.

Welcome.

Electrical issues aren't the easiest but, then again, not the worst.
Several of the vendors sell harnesses and for the bits and pieces, folks recommend http://www.vintageconnections.com.

Good luck with the car!
