Body Clip Pads

Okay, you have the body off the frame and are ready to start putting things back together. The body clips have some pretty crusty looking rubber bits attached to them. They are squished and usually falling apart. I found a suitable replacement from McMaster-Carr. They carry different thicknesses as well as durometers. I chose the 1/4" which looks a tad thick but by the time you set the body on and bolt it down should be fine. I ordered 1 Each 8456K535 Adhesive-Backed High-Strength Neoprene Rubber 1/4" Thick, 2" Wide, 36" L, Black, 50A Durometer It is enough material to make 18 pads. I used a sheet metal shear to cut and an industrial punch to make the bolt holes. They look pretty darned good which really does not matter because you will never see them again unless you pull the body off of the car again. I am going to purchase a 4" wide neopreme to replace the horsehair pads that also fit between the frame and the body. You can visit McMaster-Carr here http://www.mcmaster.com
