filters and availablity

Hello, new to the site, just purchased my Roadster in January and picked up a second one last week. I'm trying to get my 70 1600 running, but can't seem to find the air filter or smog pump breather. I live in Whittier, Ca, near LA. Anyone have any suggestions or part numbers I can reference?

Air filters are available from vendors. I am surprised that you are keeping the smog pump!

Yeah, I was asked that question today at work, I think I'm just going to pull it.

You wouldn't happen to know a reference part number? The K&N, Fram and O'reillys computer all returned a round filter.

Any one have recommendations on where to find a good fuel pump rebuild kit?

Nissan or the vendors for the fuel pump rebuild kit. Most parts stores no longer can get the correct filter for a 1600.

I have heard of some taking the round air filter and forming it into an oval. I tried it w/ a Fram filter and wasn't too happy with how it ended up.

I picked up a stock filter from my local Nissan dealer. As noted above, vendors can source from Nissan as well.

I took a Purolator filter and deformed it to fit a 2000 SU housing. It has some ripples, but will work just fine. Someone picked up a K&N and made it fit a 1600, but I don't recall the part number.

I just recently bought a new air filter from Nissan dealership. Cost was 12.88



I was surprised just how many engine bits are still available.
The oil filter in the pic is a cartridge style element, not spin on. The pan gasket however would be correct and less than 5 bucks!
