radio wiring

Post by shifty »

Any radio/electronics gurus out there?

I found a Clarion AM/FM radio from a later Datsun (I'd guess late 70's, maybe early 80's). The radio is very small and fits into the '68 console nicely. Clarion model number: RN-454M. It has 2 part numbers: 286-4844-00 and 285-1022-00

Here's my question: it has a 5-pin DIN connector marked "deck". There is a wiring diagram for the radio itself, but not for the "deck" connector. Were these standardized in any way? I'm guessing this is for a cassette or 8-track, I'd like to try to use this as an input for an iPod.

Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Leigh Brooks
