Good to meet some of you in Solvang, including the "other" Alvin. I'm based in Belmont, CA and technically have a 1966 1600 Roadster. It was first registered in 1965, the original owner picked it up in Japan on a tour of duty with the Navy, VIN #368. Still has the CHP Inspection sticker - assuming when it was first brought in. I'm now the second owner.

I'm still learning the fine art of Datsun debugging and part scrounging. Will have many newbie questions.

Always open for a run in the car in the Bay Area - just let me know!

Hi Alvin,

I spotted your car in Solvang but we did not meet. Yes, let's do a run in the near future.

I hope you have a good drive in both directions.

ALVIN!!!!
Nice meeting you at Solvang. You guys may find it funny that one of us didn't receive the "Hey, where's Simon and Theodore?" teasing while growing up :D

Alvin (man that is weird for me to say) has a pretty '66 with a great interior and engine bay. These are straight from my Solvang blog post:

The weather is awesome and we will definitely have some fun runs soon. Welcome!

I first came across Theodore and Simon when I moved to the US in 1999… I grew up with people making fun of me about this Alvin… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_Stardust" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I got the attached picture of yours… I'm sure there are a few of these lurking on the inter web!

Good to meet you and the family, looking forward to those drives!

Alvin (the 2nd)...I also used to live in Belmont in the Sterling Downs neighborhood. There is another roadster owner who has a business off of Old Country Road/Marine View (Near CalTrain) who also has a 67 1600.

Yep.. same car. Actually (Gus,Owner) also has a Datsun 510 with a radical v8 swap from back in the 70's. It even has a CARB sticker.

His 1600 is very sweet..Black with very nice custom roll bars behind each seat. I'll look for an old photo!
