Sorry, not an answer to your question. Just curious and clarifying.
Are you trying to get the hardtop from Modesto to Solvang only, or is this top going from CA to FL?
I only ask because, if the latter, I am going to Shasta this summer and could get the top back at least to the Midwest for you.

A friend is driving to Solvang, and has agreed to ferry the top back as far as his house in Arkansas if I can get the top to Solvang. If I can't get that done, he may be going to Shasta too, and could pick it up then. Eventually the top needs to get to Florida.
