Feditco Ignition

Post by glennhuff »

My wife bought me four sets of ignition components on E-bay. The manufacturer is Feditco. I noticed that noone is bidding on them. Is there something wrong with these parts? I think she got four sets for $31 including shipping. For that price I can afford to replace them when they go bad. Did I mess up? Anyone used these parts?

They were for sale much cheaper a while ago - I got something like 12 or 18 sets for that price. I've heard the points aren't very good, like the spring action is inadequate. The condenser looks good, the cap feels like very cheap plastic, and the rotor looks serviceable. Worst case is it won't work very well. Since you've already bought them, might as well give it a try.

I dont like the points set. They are a pain to set up, probably because the points pivot pin that engages the plate was of a smaller diameter.

Last summer I was having was having some similiar ignition problems as described above, but I didnt attribute them to the points.
Sound like I should change them out as Stickerman has done.
