Did you miss the anti-football run? Here's your second chance. While sports fans are getting worked up for the superbowl, do this informal run from Pacifica to Boulder Creek instead. Meet at Nick's in Pacifica around 9:00AM, the rally leaves at 10:00AM. Get a map from the organizers. We drive to Boulder Creek for lunch, with a short break by Alice's Restaurant on the way. We head back to Pacifica where the rally ends before the half time show. You may meet up anywhere in between, and break off any where you like. I met a roadster owner who drove from Santa Cruz one year, and spotted a roadster on the way back. This run is open to any vintage make, where you define vintage. There is always a good mix of cars, and I'd love to see more roadsters or any Datsun at this run. I noticed these makes you don't see everyday, including Maserati, Rolls Royce, Hudson, Jensen, you name it. That's what makes it interesting.
Some pictures from last year:

The California Melée guys make it happen. It's pretty loose and unofficial, so no registration. Just show up. There were way more cars than the pictures I put up. I was too busy having fun, and caught up in conversation. Also, I tend to take pictures only of the cars that are interesting to me like the blue Fiat Dino. There were two other Datsun Roadsters last year. On a previous rally, a fella from Santa Cruz brought a Solexed 2 liter, and let me try it out. Man, that was a hoot. Now I know why he had a radar detector in it. If you have a vintage car, this is a great place to show it and go for a spin. The blue Bugeye, the XKE and the 4-door MG were all fresh restorations, but some take their daily drivers or something they just got running.

Just made the drive from SF down Highway 1 today for the first time. Someone cliffed it (500 foot drop) about 20-30 miles south of Monterey. Did not look good.
Be careful.

Ok I give up. I don't have the David-esque physique of Ted so naturally he is seen topless more than I.
