Book those Solvang Rooms NOW.
Best place to stay is Svendsgaard's Danish Lodge-Americas Best Value Inn.
It is always full of the best roadster folks and you can meet all those famous 311s members
you have only experienced over the internet.
You will even meet "dbrick" there. You will have no trouble identifying him!
2 blocks from the show and the cheapest of the in-town accommodations.
If you have partners that may not last all day at the show, they can easily take a break at the Inn.
But Svendsgaards budget rooms are going fast. "Budget" for the show works out to
about $92 a day, including all the taxes & fees, for Thursday-Sat.
The Best Value online site has a fist full of discounts you might be able to use.
Book them now as you can cancel with no fee up to 2 days before.

Ted, We're not going to make it to Solvang this year, just booked for Shasta. Chris already snagged our usual room at Svengaard.

Wish we could go to both shows, but the Roadster travel budget gets out of hand.
It's a great, if slightly quirky, hotel. We've always called directly to the hotel to book, as all their rooms are not necessarily available through the online booking. It's a great place to stay, especially if you've never been to Solvang, as there are probably 20+ roadsters in the lot, so you don't need to seek out other owners and it's a block from the show.
We'll try for 2015, but I don't think we'll get our room back from Chris.

Forget those generic motel/hotel rooms in Solvang, check out Flying Flags Campgrounds a few miles outside Solvang. They have tent camping, 22-26, cabins 99-149 and the coolest Airstream trailers that accomodate 4 people.....

Also showers, electrical hookups, swimming.
I camped last year after Phil helped me find my tent, which blew 25 yards away

Yes, Flying Flags a very nice accommodating RV and Camping park. We have actually reserved 2 bungalow cabins for the 2014 show since we have so many more friends and family who love to come to this event. Do make your reservations early if planning on the cabin.

FYI...
I was still able to book a room at Svendsgaard's Danish Lodge-Americas Best Value Inn today. So I did. They didn't offer a "budget" room, but just got a regular room I guess. $101 + taxes.
We've never been to a Solvang Datsun show, but hope to make it this year.

If anybody coming from the North wants to meet up in SLO and then stop at a winery on the way to Solvang for lunch go to this link. I'm trying to set something up but I'm having a hard time getting commitments. I need to get a head count so I can let the winery know and the let the restaurant know for the lunch. Lunch cost would be around $15. If I don't have some firm numbers by the end of the month I guess I'll see you all in Solvang.

Robert,
It's hard to commit this far out. I suggest making a plan and posting it and others can adjust their departure times and routes to meet up if interested. Having done this the last two years, expect that plans will change and you'll need to improvise. It usually works out better than expected. We can exchange contact info via PM and firm up plans the week before the drive.
