Update on my project

Well, the engine is complete - thats the good news. I'm overbudget right now so I need to put this on hold for about a year until I can raise enough money to continue.

Here's the list of what was done so far:

Wheels and Tires:
- Remove Tires - clean, prep and prime rims
- paint and clean rims
- paint inside of rims black

Fuel Tank:
- remove tank from car, remove sending unit
- check for damage, paint black and seal inside of tank
- replace sending unit

Engine Rebuild:
- remove engine from car
- break engine down
- clean and inspect all parts
- correct all past problems (and there were problems)
- order needed parts (see below)
- machine work (cook and clean block, bore new holes in block, polish and check crank, clean and resurface head, valve job)
- reassemble engine

Parts list:
- Pistons w/ Rings (.030)
- ? Bearings (can't read the writing)
- Main bearinggs
- rod bearings
- plasti? (again, can't read the writing...)
- expansion plugs
- complete gasket set
- oil pump
- timing chain
- timing chain tensioner
- water pump
- fuel pump
- thermostat
- oil filter
- dist cap
- dist rotor? (can't read it too well)
- electronic ignition
- spark plugs
- plug wires
- ? by-pass valve
- motor mounts
- fuel line hose
- alternator bolt
- air cleaner

- also, the radiator was re-cored...

The next step is to remove the transmission and go through that. After that I will have a complete and hopefully solid running drive-train. Why were the wheels done first? So the car can be mobile. Why didn't I just buy a working Datsun? I'm asking myself the same question...

If I ever hope to finish this project I need to raise some dough. As a self employed graphic designer its difficult to just squeeze by. Hey, if anyone here knows any companies that needs brochures, web sites or logos please let me know. My roadster will thank you.
