lug nuts for 280zx wheels

I will soon be done sanding and polishing my 1982 280zx 6-spoke "snowflake" wheels. I am going to use .75" OD x .68" ID tubing to put in the wheels in order to properly center the wheels on the hubs. My question is: What lug nuts do I need for this? I know I need 7/16" ID, but what about shank width and shank length?

I would like to use part #1702 from wheelcomponents.com (1.38 x 13/16) or (1.38 x 3/4) http://www.wheelcomponents.com/lugnuts.html
Anyone know if these will work? Thanks.

I don't think you can use p/n 1702 with that solution. That's for wheels that require a bulge at the end, which these mags do not have. In short, this is not the right style lugnut.

But there's good news. If you use wheelcomponents.com part number 5302, you don't need to use tubing to change the inner diameter. The threads, outer diameter and shoulder height are all correct.

There is one gotcha though. If your studs aren't long enough for the threads to go past the shoulder and into the head of the lugnut, your lugnuts will shear off. BTDT. I had to install longer studs (Datsun 411, not Roadster) and it was a pain, both finding ones that would work and getting them installed.

Thanks Adam. Those (5302) lug nuts look like a much better fit. Did you use the supplied washers?

Yes, the washers shown on the lugnuts are held in place by a serration on the shaft; they can't be removed.
