All,
If you don't know about him, Bruce Canepa is an icon and a very cool car guy. He was born into the car business in Santa Cruz. He became an acclaimed race car driver, and nearly won Le Mans, along side Rick Mears, finishing second, if I remember right. He had both Mercedes and Porsche dealerships. More recently, he and his team have become one of the very best high end restorers of treasured cars in the business anywhere, including the fabulous restoration of the first ever Duesenberg (check out the recent Jay Leno's Garage at Pebble Beach). His museum is awesome, as are the current crop of his cars for sale, featuring many cars worthy of the $1 million plus asking price, including two amazing 1957 Mercedes, one a 300 Gullwing and the other a 300 Roadster, both fabulous and better than new.
The best thing about Bruce is that he is a regular guy notwithstanding the clear tact that his toy chest is the best ever.
Sorry, "tact" was supposed to be "fact". I blame it on my third Martini, which was better than the second, which was better than the first. I can't wait for the fourth.

Sounds great, Alvin, thanks!! Is the Datsun required to join the drive or are other cars welcome, too?

I was thinking of bringing the "Green Tree Frog", but if my wife joins me, the Aston will likely be the choice.

I've had a few folks ask if they can still visit Canepa with us if they missed the RSVP deadline. Yes, please join us by meeting at the shop. The RSVP was mostly for the lunch reservation, but I'm sure they can still accommodate you at the restaurant.
