Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and quite frankly this car. I received mine in pieces in a container. And after about a year I've pretty much got most of it put back together and am working on finally getting it to run. I believe its a 68 only discrepency for me is that on the window it says SRL311 but it has the R16 motor so I would think it to be an SPL311. I'll try to crawl the forums for answers before posting something thats already been covered. :D excited to be onboard

If the VIN says SRL, then it was originally a 2000. Luckily the 1600 is a bolt-in replacement - did you get the 5-speed in the bundle of parts?
Welcome aboard, and don't hesitate to ask any question!

well the car originally had oregon plates. I think it may have the 5 speed but im not sure. Is there an easy indicator to look for if i get under the car? like the position of a drain plug or something? Ill post the vin when i get home. maybe upload some pics as well.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :)

Yes, the 4-speed transmission has a flat "pan" that bolts onto the bottom of the transmission, with a drain plug. If this plate is not there, then you likely have the 5 speed. In addition the 5 speed is built in 3 distinct pieces, A bell housing, transmission center, and tail shaft piece.

Welcome from Northern California. Your car is an SRL it is just missing some important parts now. Engine and trans come up for sale from time to time no worries. Enjoy the ride.
