Does anyone have a 1500 front spring lying around that they could measure the free length on? I was suppose to do that for Sid as I was tearing my 1500 apart. I forgot and now the frame is ancient history. Mike Young seems to think they are the same as the 1600 stock springs. A measurement would be great. Thanks.

310 Manual gives the 1500 front spring part#54010-10500 coil dia, x center dia x free length - effective coil numbers as: 12.7 x 87.5 x 290 -6
So there you have it. The free length is 290 mm.
The same dimensions apply to the 1600/2000 stock spring# 54010-10501.
I dont have any data on the competition spring 54010-25510

Yes, I am reading this. Thanks Steve. Now I have a couple of questions. Does anyone have the specs for the springs for other markets? According to some documentation that I have read, Nissan made US market springs that raised the height of the front end to meet federal lighting standards. Any info anyone?

Nope.....
Don't have any info on that.
Maybe thats why they changed from 13" rims to 14" rims with a slightly different tire?

I think the change from front drums to disk brakes is the reason for the switch from 13" to 14" rims.
