I just had made a few prototypes of a shift knob that I designed on CAD. They actually turned out very nice. They are are made of aluminum 6061-T6 (polished) and measure 1.3" wide (widest point) and 2.1" long, with "311" engraved on the top. The threading is m8x1.25 ( I think early roadsters are SAE 5/16) which is recessed in the knob to make it sit lower. It looks sharp !
I have 6 spares i can sell if anyone is interested , price is $75 each -
