Hey guys,
Have any of you guy have used this carburetor rebuild kit from Keyster rebuild kit? I’m looking to rebuild my carburetor and
Wondering is this rebuilds kit (includes all gaskets; 2 x float needle and seats; misc packing and gaskets) is all I need to rebuild my carburetor.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :D

Thanks

I have installed one there kits.
The quality of the parts are pretty good and fit like oem.
Only problem I had was the needle shoulder diameter that fits into the piston were a little over plated at the stamped number, so I had to give them a quick spin between my fingers using 600 grit emery to remove about .002"
They provided 2 sets of needles. One for the 2000 and one for the 1600.
I tried the needles in my r16 (non-smog) for a bit, but found that in the low rpms there was a little less throttle responce. I went back to m39 needles.
Soon as I get the throttle shaft bushings replaced I will give them another try with less air leaks. The needles are fairly close, if not the same, as the m43 needle profile.

All the other parts I was quite happy with.

Ray, Thanks for reponding
I called up this guy who is selling these rebuild kit, and I told him the year of my car (69) his respond was,
The kit he is selling is for 1965. he does not know if this will fit on my 1969, so my question is will 65 fit onto
My 69 or will the 65 carburetor interchange with 69?

Do you recommend this rebuild kit? And is there other rebuild kit out there that is better than this kit (Keyster kit)?

Thanks
Ben

Ben:
That is the same Keyster kit that I acquired ($29).

The float bowl gaskets/needle valves, oil dampening pistons/packings, throttle adjust screws/springs and fluel inlet packing washers will fit your 69. I found those items to be identical to the 68-70 carbs I have kicking around.
The needles are the only things I cannot give you a definite answer on.

Let me clarify my previous post.
I had pointed out earlier that they had 2 sets of needles.
One set is stamped with HWJ1 and the other HWJ2.
After measuring both of their profiles, I found the HJW1 set to be the profiled pretty close that of a M43 needle (used on the 1600). Since The profile was close to M43, I took them as being for the 1600.
The HJW2 set profile did not match any of the M39 or M43 (for 1600) needles I had on hand, thus I took them as being for the 2000.
The carburetor listing on the kit box indicates the 1600, 2000 and 240z carb part#s.
Since I dont have any M70 (for 1600), N19, N25 (for 2000) or 240Z needles to compare to, I cannot say for sure whether they match any of the Keyster needle profiles provided.

To sum it up, I would consider the Keyster kit a good choice for a carb minor repair kit to be used for replacing the leaking float bowls, fuel line inlets , fuel bowl needle valve and worn oil damping pistons that you may have.
The needles sets may not be for your particular carb/engine.

All of the vendor listed on the site would probably offer similiar kits or parts to perform the same repairs.

The Nissan carb repair kit for the 1600 is part# 16010-14628.
It includes all the same items , except that it includes all three sets of the oem 1600 needles (M39,M43,M70)

Another aftermarket repair kit is offered by Royze.
I do not Know what they provide in their kits, but I imagine it would contain the simliar items.

If you are intending on truely re-building your carbs, a lot more things would have to be done to get them back to into good working order. (thottle shafts, bushings, fuel nozzles/sleeves, domes & dome pistons, linkages....)

There a list of re-builder services in the FAQ's Carb tuning section if you really want the carbs to work like new.
