Also...Temp/fuel gauge

Post by Jorge022770 »

I forgot to ask about my gauges......the temp and fuel gauges went nuts again! They both go all the way up within 2 mins of starting the engine. I "burped" the air from the cooling system, and verified that the thermostat is opening when it has to.....the coolant is flowing fine.

As to the fuel, i am 100% sure that gas does not increase like magic inside the tank either.

So, since the tech tips talk about situations where temp/fuel gauges are not reading at all, but mine are reading "too much", what could be the source of my problem?

I have the same exact problem and posted a similar question months ago.

The consensus is that there's a ground/short, but the car quit running and the rain/cold set in, so I haven't confirmed whether that's the problem or not.
