CARBS...CARBS

And I don't mean the Atkins diet! I started my engine today after...ehhemm...a few months, and the engine fired up nicely. It settled at about 700rpm's give or take, and I checked the mixture like it says here......lift the piston pin and if it stalls it means that it tis lean,,,right?
Well mine is lean i guess because it stalls badly...sometimes stopping...when I do this. So I turned the thing at the bottom a few "flats"...and I don't see change.
Originally it was set 12 flats out. I don't know if there's anything else that needs to be checked, and I don't know how many "flats" it takes to make a noticeable change in the mixture.
At least the needles are centered and the car doesn't die when the choke is disengaged (spell check this word for me!)
like it used to.
Thanks everyone1
