Hello all! I just won a 1964 SPL310 on eBay so I am diving into this roadster thing with two feet. I am just about to finalize the restoration on my 1967 Puma GTE ( http://www.pumagte.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) so this will be my next project. Not sure what I got myself into but I am looking forward to getting this little hotrod back on the road. SPL310-02509.

Welcome Brandon! I dig the Puma! Is that built on a VW platform? I've never seen one before and I like it! My buddy had a VW bug that did the 1/4 mile in 14.5, and few street V8s could touch him in the 1/8th, so I know they can scoot! Looks like beautiful work. Tell us more about your new addiction and post some pics when you get her. Fun times ahead, and we're here to help!

Thanks for the warm welcome. The Puma is built on a modified Brasilia chassis. Mine has been modified with a custom 2270 Type IV motor mated to a custom 5 speed transaxle. Suspension has been altered to air ride so that the nose can keep from getting scraped on driveways or it can be laid low during shows. Interior received custom touches like a Nardi steering wheel, 356 speedster-style seats and custom upholstery throughout. Wire wheels replaced the mags to compliment the Italian-inspired lines of the body. Should be pretty cool (and complete) in the month or so. I suppose I am a glutton for punishment with these rare cars.

Oh, I am sure I will be picking your brain with this build since I am new to the Roadster scene. Still deciding what direction to go with it.

OK, so I have captured the photos from Ebay which will get things started. Any insight, suggestions, comments, etc are welcomed. Looking forward to restoring this little car. Like I said before, not sure if I am going to do a restoration or a resto-mod, but either way this little car is going to get lots of love (and lots of money)

Thanks for the feedback. Any insight you have would be appreciated. I got the car for about $3000 and it seems solid from the photos so I can live with a few incorrect items for now. What do you see that is wrong?

Ooh I love this game!
you have the 2000 grill, I like the steering wheel(aftermarket), Antenna delete, dash is reversed color(gauges are black with everything else body color.) and the dash pad on top. Can be brushed satin black on the blue grill supports, (lot's of debate about what is stock from what I've seen.) Choke knob?
Looks like a very solid car. I like it a lot. One of my favorite colors.

What about the shackles in the back... They look upside down... Common to add clearance in the wheel wells. Become Ted Heaton's friend - Ted's car is what your car wants to grow up to be... Same colour too.

Thanks for the feedback, Alex. I think those are all things that can be pretty quicly addressed. Considering this thing is going directly to my restoration guy I will be sure and have those items added to the list.
