I came across a 67 1600, selling price is $875. Broken front windshield, both side vent glass broken (not window),
Seat, carpet and vinyl are rough however all the interior parts is there, California car no rust anywhere, most of the lights lens are broken but the frame is there, one small dent at the rear quarter panel close to the rear tale light (driver side), engine 100% complete from air cleaner down to muffler tale pipe (all original) VIN tag number all match. All emblems, mouldings, hub caps, bumpers are all complete.
A car likes this condition, how much would you pay for? The asking price is $975 but he would let me have it for $875
With deliver (30 miles one way) is this a good buy? Does this car worth $875 bucks?
Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Is it a 67 or a 67.5? It does not really matter as it sounds like a good deal to me. I am easy when it comes to buying roadsters. Clear title-registered or is it non-op with all fees paid? As long as it has dropped off of the DMV books it will not cost you much to get it registered. I bought one that had not dropped and it cost me almost $400.00 to get it registered. If only the previous owner had paid the $10.00 a year non-op fee! That is the only thing I would be leary of. Otherwise it sounds like a good deal. Come on---add one more to your stable. You need to have at least two to be certified!

It is a 1967, it does not have any DME record what so ever, this car had not been register since 1986.
So this will be bill of sale deal no pink slip. I haven’t done with my 69 1600 yet and now already thinking
Getting another one, I guess that make me a roaster freak.
I’m still debating if I should get it, I don’t know if this is a good price for that condition but after your positive feedback
That’ll put me toward buying it, but I’ll wait for more feedbacks from others.

What do you want to do with it? Flip it and make a profit? Part it out on eBay? Fix it up? Use as parts for your 69 or use your 69 as parts for this? Although much will swap, much also won't, so buying it as a parts car may mean selling a lot of parts on eBay to buy the right part for your car. But at that price if it's complete it doesn't sound like a bad deal so long as the wife doesn't mind.

sounds like a good deal but you will have to put big bucks back into it to restore it.

Big bucks might be better spent on getting a brand new Chysler Sebring Convertible.
You know the type. Its the model that makes everyone want to yell out to you at the stop light with such things as " Hey what year is that... I have never seen one of those before...Nice car.....Does it have a Hemi....etc"

Just kidding...roadsters are like martinis , just one is not enough.
If I had the opportunity for the deal you've just described, I would one happy guy.

Your domed pistons don't make it happen, however if you dropped a Nissan NAPZ engine in you would. Yes it has a hemi head, if one got really creative or bored, you could drop a Jaguar straight 6 in and have a dual overhead cam 4 liter hemi......

Can you image the nose job the roadster would have to have for a jag staight 6! The roadster would look like a sharp edged jag. hmmmm, just a thought. Now if we can stuff a RB26dett with the AWD in a roadster we would be talkin!

Without doubt I'll keep it and restore it, if I buy this car.
condition is good and complete I dont think I want to part it out.
I'll check out this car one more time just to know what I getting and no regret.
So you guy think this is a good deal? I just want to be sure this car is worth $875 buck just incase if I decide not to keep it I can get me money back.

i don't have the luxury of a surplus of cars or parts here in TX. At that price even with the DMV issue you can't go wrong. It'll just be another yard ornament at worst. Good luck. Sam

OK, its no turning back now because I already bought this car today and registered it today all in one.
This car came with Califonia black plate which I want to keep it with this car but I was so stupid that I did not specify that I want to keep the black plate at the time I register the car, I bought the car with bill of sale so inpection is neccessary wtih DMV at the time of registration, the DMV tech documented VIN # and lincence plate # on the car inpection form so I assume they will reassign that black plate but no they assinged the white plate, I did not know it untill I got home and look and the registration card. so I called them back and told them the situration and told me I have to specify it at time I register the car with a fact sheet form
and they say its not much I can do now because it already in the system.
that suck!!!
but on the other hand I'm excited that I own a low windsheild 67 1600 SPL311-08749

Good for you Ben. Registration was too easy huh! Sorry you missed out on the black plates-they are retro cool looking. Now to find a windshield among other things.

This dude is asking $400 for it, which is an arm and a leg I cant afford that. $400 for the windshield? I can buy a junk car for that price and part out and sell the rest.
