2013 NorCal to Solvang Coastal Caravan

I haven't seen a thread start on this topic yet, so here it goes.
I intend to drive down to Solvang from the Bay Area on Friday morning 4/26 via the coastal route. Last year I met up with Jon (RoadsterJon) and Jared (gvpjared) along the way and we had a fun drive.
Some of you expressed an interest to do the same this year. We can try to coordinate logistics on this thread.
Depending on where everyone is coming from potential meet up points are:
Campbell / Los Gatos - near Hwy 17
Santa Cruz / Soquel - near Hwy 1
Carmel and points south
Cambria - for those coming via Paso Robles / Lunch stop(?)
The idea is to have a casual drive down, enjoy the view and support each other should something happen along the way.

Count me in.
Hope not to break down, of course, but love the idea of support just in case.
Meeting at Santa Cruz/Soquel probably works best for me.

I'm in Paso so will meet for lunch and roll from here. I know it's early, but when the time comes, I'm sure I can suggest a better than average lunch spot. Guaranteed cheaper eats than the next few days we'll be facing.

If you stop in Cambria, This place is very good. I made a 75 mile detour for the Reuben last year on the way to Solvang.

Hint,hint.
Speaking of 75 mile detours (well, you are still headed south for most of it, so not really a detour)
just past Nipomo (before Santa Maria) take 166 East 10 miles to
Tepesquet Canyon, go right.
17 miles of incredible roads, really well paved, switchbacks galore, made for the roadster.
Left at Foxen Canyon. Gorgeous horse ranches and small wineries.
Right at Alisos Canyon to get back out to 101, or continue on a few miles and Foxen Canyon becomes Zaca Canyon (this is Fess Parker winery area) and comes back out onto 101 a few miles more south.
At this point you can go back onto 101 to get to Buellton, or a left takes you onto 154/San Marcos Pass Rd, which will bring you on the scenic route into Solvang from the East (the casino route).
Highly recommended.

Sounds like the kind of roads Bob needs to take his Roadster doubting friend on (see Roadster vs 240z thread)!

A few of us from the Sacramento area are going to leave on Thursday and spend the night in Santa Cruz then take Highway one down to Solvang on Friday. We could meet up on Friday.
