Five Below Zero!

Man this is a tough time of year for racer boys living in the upper Midwest. My outside thermometer says -5 and the garage roof has two feet of snow on it...damn. About the only thing that keeps me from permanent liver damage is getting ready for the first race at Blackhawk. Oh.. I did manage to order a new 22' Haulmark Transport Deluxe for this season. What are you guys up to.....

Snow and cold here really dampens the motoring spirit....snows almost everyday...work is progressing on liver damage...Temps have been up and down all winter...it's the road salt that keeps the cars garage bound.

Need to get behind the wheel of a roadster pretty damn soon...April maybe?

33degC ABOVE zero here in Adelaide.
Got a call from my Body Shop man this morning.
He has lined up a guy to massage my SP310 back into a reasonable facsimile of what it was when it left the factory.
Time and a half is ticking by!
Supposed to be back in my shed at the end of May, all finished that is!

We are hitting the other extreme here. It has been hovering around 70 but it has been so long since we have seen rain that there is a generation of children who don't know what the word "rain" means.

I can relate to that.
We have a tradition here in Oz that when it gets too flamin' hot, the kids play under a sprinkler on the lawn.
Due to severe water restrictions, there is a whole generation of toddlers who just haven't experienced that!
Perhaps when they grow up to be mature adults they will be allowed to frolic naked under a lawn sprinkler :)
I'd like to see that!

I was thinking about daily driving the roadster this week, until I saw there was a chance of rain tues, wed and thurs. The first race of the season should be on the 24th, the roadster is ready to go, tires are fresh, and I can't wait. We were supposed to be on the 4th race of the season, but permit issues have caused the cancellation of the first 3 races of the year.

I can't wait. If it rains, I'll run the M3 and not worry about it.

There's stuff that goes on in April and may. And Jack isn't just for winter!
