OK, going for the last major item...

Going to rip out all the old rugs and upholstery and replace them. My plan is to give the interior a coat of POR15 before I put everything back in. A couple questions:
1. Does anybody have an idea on how much POR15 I should order? Will a quart be enough? Pint?
2. I know that you need to top coat POR15 or if exposed to the sun it will degrade. I am assuming that if I put it under the rugs and interior upholstery that this would be unnecessarily?
3. Before I put the rugs down, I am going to put down a layer of self sticking sound deadening material like Dean sells (and is probably also sold by Ross and other suppliers too). Has anybody tried sticking this directly on POR15?

I bought a quart over 14 years ago. Applied 1 coat to a 70 dodge crewcab floor, a 67 vw bus cab floor and entire cargo area floor, passenger floor, trunk and steering/suspension bits of a roadster and still have enough left to paint the rear u bolts, shock leaf/spring plates.
A pint should do it, and more!
I dont pop the lid, poke two holes opposite each other and pour it out. when done, install GOOD sheet metal screws about 3 turns into the holes. if you pop the lid and it spills into the rim, you will destroy the can trying to remove the lid.

That is great advice. That it. I opened the can like a normal person would do and it dried up within a few applications. Plus, good luck re-opening the can after you seal it again. The more often you open it the harder it becomes to re-open the can. The stuff works great too. I tried another suggested alternative which was ok but nothing as great as POR 15.

Oh. One more thing. If you plan on buying more than a quart. I highly recommend you buy multiple quarts, not a gallon can. This way you never have to worry about wasting the entire batch if the can re-seals poorly. Also, I suggest you buy a colored version, not clear. It is easier to see that it is applied evenly.
Good luck and use in a well vented area, have some good towels to clean up drips and something strong to remove spills with.

So it sounds like a pint should do the job. After I finish the job, I will report success. I was going to paint black, but any reason not to choose silver? That would be closer to the original color of the floor.

David (pebbles) comment about a quart was good advise. I purchased a pint and it was probably 1/2 pint from being enough... I am now waiting on ground shipment of a second pint from the POR folks. Petty frustrating to see a small section of the interior floor sitting there un-painted while the rest of the interior looks so nice with a new coat of POR...

If you are redoing the interior of a roadster, buy a quart...
