Skidmarks,
I have a question. I used to run nismo comp rearsprings with the correct size white kyb for stock springs on my 69. I think I still had travel when I installed the comp springs. However when I moved the setup to my 66 the shocks bottomed out and had no travel, they were too long.
So, do you use a shorter shock when running a lowered suspension? Any part#'s? I would prefer to stick with the white KYB's.
With my new 70, I want to make sure I get it right the first time.
Thanks
Alexi

RE:Shorter Shocks
Alexi,
Never heard of your problem before. I ran the same shocks with stock and competition rear springs and never had a problem. Maybe someone else has had the same esperience as you but not I.

Was it the shocks or the bump stops that are bottoming out. I had to cut mine down to about 1/3rd the stock size (like the setup in the Comp prep manual). The rear end of a 66 is slightly different than the later cars.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
shocks
the problem was on the 66 after bolting up the springs I was compressing the shock to bolt it up to the axle and I actually compressed the shock all the way before I could bolt it up, and this was with the car off the ground at full drop.
Alvin, that would be great if you could get me the part#.
