I'm confused. I've got a 69 2000 that d I'd llike to convert to electronic ignition. Is there an advantage to getting the whole distributor unit or do I just want an electronic ignition kit to replace the points?

Thanks
John

The petronix are okay but if you have the cash-go with a Gary Boone EI dizzy. Rock solid and I am sure the dizzy will last a long time. I tried the petronix on a roadster and found it a real pain to get set correctly plus the parts are plastic. I put a Crane EI ignition on my Z and it performed well until it died and left me stranded. I am running a G.B. EI dizzy on it now as well. Reliable performance, no more points and money well spent. Ask Santa for one!!! :D

Steve, you forgot to mention how pretty the GB dizzy is. 8)

Now, if the damn rain would stop so I could install it, then mabye I can comment on how wonderfully it performs, etc, etc. :D

I have known a few people who converted to petronix and got stranded. If you don't pony up for the dizzy you can buy a new distributor from nissan for about $125.

I got my GB dizzy from steve, and it is worth the cash. My stock dist was worn and the car wouldn't idle lower than 1200. The GB really increases reliablility and the 12v coil seems to have improved performance as well. good stuff!
