Any need for Comp Oil pan Baffles w/trap doors?

Roadster Racers,

Last year I finished up repros of the original comp oil pan baffle. (The ones that always break) You can see one on ebay now by searching- Datsun Roadster Comp Baffle ..That one is the ticket if you are doing a resto with a comp pan...

But my question to you is, are there enough of you that would want a version of the comp baffle like Nismo offered with the trap door reservoir?

I don't think the cost would be much more than the original style baffle, we can save a little money by not plating it (plating isn't needed if it will actually get in a pan and run lol), but the material cost and fab time would be a little more.

Post up, or pm me either is fine.

Thanks JimT

What is the cost of the original style and the anticipated trap door version cost?

Racer price is 325 on the original style repro (with reinforcements at the mounting points). I think I can keep the trap door versions under 450 and maybe under 400 if I can keep the amount of tig welding down. (cost gets out of hand when there is a lot of tig required)

Some photos of the standard baffle attached.

I'd be interested. Once I get a running engine, I don't want to blow it up (again)! That and a scraper for a three main.
PS: I have a pan that is angled at the front, maybe 2-3 inches back at the bottom. How much front clearance would be needed? Could dig up the pan if specific measures are needed, but would take a while.

The baffles would be for the unmodified Datsun comp 7 qt oil pan.

If you need a special version you could send us your pan so that it fits for sure. A scraper would mount above the baffle and be completely compatible. PM me if you want to send your pan etc.

Thanks Jim

2 year bump...

do you still have these? I am going to pull the oil pan sometime in the near future and am really curious what I will find inside there.
