Chrome trim rings

I'm still somewhat new to Roadsters so this may not be a novel question. I searched the site but didn't find an answer to the question, did Datsun ever make chrome trim rings to complement the standard dog dish covers on steelies? Recently I saw a Roadster online that had trim rings with the dog dish covers, silver/gray wheels and WSW tires. It looked pretty nice so I was wondering if the rings were available originally or if any one knows if there are other trim rings that may fit our wheels.

Datsun did not make any, but there are plenty of aftermarket sets. You can still buy them new at most auto parts stores.

I like the look, may have been a pic of my old car you saw

. Be sure you know how deep they are so they fit.

Thanks guys. See several different vendors have them in 14" with a variety of depths. Will measure for them this morning. Looks like they come three ways, chrome covered ABS, chromed steel and stainless, and can be had for less than $100 for all four. I'll post some pics when I get them installed. Noticed in an old post somewhere other than this sight that Garm was researching this 3-4 years ago.

Agree. I still love that clean look.
Back in '78, the chrome trim ring was the ticket on my '72 510.... but back then the center wheel cover wasn't cool, so I went with "upgraded" lug nuts and rattle-can sprayed wheels. What can I say? It was the cheap solution. Ans it looked particularly good parked on my Mom's front walkway. She had to love that...

Decide to go with the stainless and ordered up a set today from Hubcap Mike.

Here are a couple of pics with the trim rings installed. Still working on rear brakes and suspension that's why the shots are front only. The quality is very good and they fit the stock wheels perfectly. For anyone else interested, they were ordered from Hub Cap Mike online. You will need to specify the 2" lip.

The look great. Helps the stock wheels out a lot.

You should roll a non-ringed tire and wheel up next to the fronts and take a before and after pic. They look nice!

I'll do that in the next day or two. Good suggestion.

I like those trim rings because they don't "overpower" the wheels. I have seen some that were too much. That is a nice balance. I like the stock wheels.
