Picked the body up from the dipper, and brought it home. Now all the regret, second-guessing, and/or fun begins...
What size is your trailer? 5x10?

I have been collecting parts and cleaning parts for the last couple of years.
I am real close to getting the brakes sorted out and functional for the first time in nearly 20 years and I am close to getting the car off of the jackstands and on the ground for the first time in 3 years. This is a huge milestone for me.

Congratulations! Once you're back on the ground the milestones will start to fall faster!

That (rental) trailer was 6x12. I put 2x6s under the body pinch welds and a 1x4 zip-tied to the front rail, and it sat surprisingly level on both the rear body section and the front rails.

Woke up early to pick up Ruby from my mechanic's shop this morning. He had forgotten to tell me he was out buying parts today...
Will have to wait till tomorrow to see her. And assess front brake issues. Fingers crossed.

installed
MSD blaster 2 coil,
4 NGK plugs Part Number: 7133 (Alternate Part Number: BPR6ES-11) at a .040 gap
tweaked the mixture 3/4 turns richer (i dont have flats on my mixture nobs)
ran much better. less back fire through the carbs. a little off throttle backfire at the tale pipe. i suspect it will lean out with the air filter installed.

Glad that worked for you. Thats the exact same plug (with gap) and coil combo that I use. I also use the Spectre HPR0351 air filter. Its cleanable/reusable just like the K&N filter.

I took the rubber gasket out of the air cleaner lid and base. The Spectre filter has its own rubber along its circumference to seal the lid and base. Fits fine on my car. But, if it don't fit your car, it don't fit.

Got the EI dizzy and related parts installed yesterday (cleared up all the stumbling issues) and after checking fluids and adjusting a few things, I drove the car out of the garage under its own power for the first time!

with all my electrical done now ,I hope , I've noticed now that the gages that are supposed to be off with the car off , are now . in another post I was told which should stay on when cars off and which should go off . now it seems to be right . yeah ! only a year .. haha .. buffing a few more layers off the back chrome bumper exposing more mirror finish .(almost got it ) tuned car to book with doing the right procedure (order) for it ( finally learned that) and surprise surprise , it's tuned correctly finally ! wow should have been easy but, what u don't know , u don't know . checked gastank again to see if anything hidden knocked loose .all good there . put gear oil in that steering thing in the driver's side front at the end of that rod thing , boy what a difference that made in my steering ! added gear oil to my transmission job I did last week making a big mess this time ,ergh. took another container full of that . now it's spilling over full . shifting feels way better . checked shocks , need new ones next !

Installed my "new old" battery. Ok I tried to make a new battery look old. Like some others here, I don't like the looks of a modern battery in a vintage engine bay. For years I've planned to use one of the various battery toppers, but wasn't happy with the ones associated with the big three. I was about to go with the autolite version when I came across the "TarTopper", which seemed more generic. Thought a couple of stickers might add a little pizzazz,

Least anyone think that I'm trying too pull the wool over somebody's eyes, here's a closeup of the little sticker :D
P.S. Sorry about the double pic. Still trying to get this picture posting thing down! Mike
