That looks really nice! I would like to replace my clamps some day as well. Your whole engine/bay looks great. Love seeing the little touches like o.e. alternator and distributor cap boot.

Hey, which car are we viewing with glee! :D
This is the 69 2000 in my avatar. A previous owner changed the color and then painted the engine compartment black. After hours of wire brushing the black off, I looked like a coal miner.

Finally got around to three projects this past week - Relocated my newly-remanufactured alternator (JT68) to the right side, installed Koni shocks front and rear, and installed the 23mm sway bar.

After my second group 53 original battery died I did like a fellow owner here did and switched to a group 51. The low cranking amps of 240 and high price made me give up. So I searched and found that a Honda Civic uses a group 51 battery and got the tray for one. Cut the nipples off the bottom and in it went. $8.80 used on Ebay.

Its not fancy, but I've been VERY busy this week and had to finish this little project before Saturday morning... A Retro-sound radio!

There's work to do for sure, like get the knobs to set back where they belong. Overall I'm happy with the project, but the single speaker in the open box sounds like (from a audio-snob point of view) crap. Its a lot better than the non-working radio, or some I've heard in other older cars, but just doesn't do it for me. I will be adding a small sub in the trunk and a couple speakers behind the seat pretty soon.

What speaker did you put in there? The speakers I got from retro sound are not very good.

Curtis -
It was the 6.5 inch "standard series" it sounds OK on low volumes if you put it right in front of you... but its a crap speaker. Again, its better than nothing, you get both channels... but it bottoms out on very low power. I'll let you know if I find a better solution. If my car doesn't sound better than a movie theater I get disappointed
