The tap can not be positioned downwards, the third diagram, to block off the manifold flow, as I would expect :? :?
If your tap can be rotated into that position, I suggest the stop washer is missing :?:
I have several manifolds around and they will all do it.
66 stroker, almost done.

Installed the new stroker. Dyno shows 128 HP. Need to recover the seats next!

Didn't really do anything to mine but drive it to the Dickson house.. But I helped Kevin, Erik, and Spencer turn some wrenches.. Not sure exactly how long this build has been underway, but one of the photos was dated 2006.. Anyway, there's another roadster rolling around.. Just a few more things left to do..lol

No, not sure what it is at the wheels, the dyno was done after the build. those numbers were at the flywheel, but it sure made a difference!

Well since the brakes are off and the lower control arms and ball joints are off, I decided to take of my steering box
in an effort to rebuild it to fix a slow leak. Pics later when it's cleaner.
It was not too difficult once I removed the top bolts and cover (found a hint from a prior post from Greg B.), it slid out
with the mighty Pittman arm :smt065 in place.
We won't count the PIA for radiator removal!

Not able to disconnect the steering shaft from the U joint though, settled for disconnect from the steering box.

I hear Curtis knows a doctor who can sometimes cure :smt030 WYAII, What is the Dr's number Curtis?

You are way beyond cure at this point. At the rate you're going we might see the body coming off the frame.

Okay, I am now going to go put harnesses together. I made an assembly board so it is easier to tape them. I may not be doing anything for my car but at least I'm doing something for somebody's car.

Spent over an hour this morning chasing down why my son's Sonata was peeing washer fluid out the fender instead on the window. Turns out Hyundai for some stupid reason uses two tee fittings in the line in the wheel well. They put a rubber cap on the tee which had come off. Put it back on with some high tack sealer.

Congrats Spencer! "we don't need no stinking windshields!"
Something tells me Kevin has practiced that "roll into the driveway, and all the way into the garage in one swoop, and hit the closer button real quick, cause someone is onto the fact that we ain't got no muffler on this beast"
Great sounds, looks like fun.

The cushion on the drivers seat was very thin and felt like I was directly on the floorboards. I Was thinking of going with corbeau classics, but decided to try to repair these ones first since the covers were still in good shape. I picked up the material and a few tips from Tony at Top notch upholstery and went to work.

replaced the brittle & loose webbing with Pirelli webbing, painted the frame/railers, and formed new cushions with high density foam. Big improvement, it's got a good mix of comfort and height. It didn't raise me too much to where it felt awkward.

Very nice work, how did you form the foam?

Formed with an angle grinder. Very messy, but it works well.

^Now that is creative, never heard of that one before. I heard electric carving knife and hot wire, never angle grinder. Looks pretty darn good for that, kudos for a creative solution!

guyatou wrote:I upgraded my headlights with some custom ones from Victoria British. (I know, I know, not Japanese. A buddy has an Austin Healey Sprite, and these look great on his car, thought I'd try them on the Roadster.)

They're not very expensive, but they are clear and highly reflective, so they put out a more modern looking light quality, and don't have the yellowed look of the older H4 lights. They were a direct swap with the existing headlights -- but I upgraded the wiring harness while I was at it. Victoria offers a harness bypass with two relays for $20 that worked like a charm, with minimal changes needed to adapt it to the car. (That part is mentioned in the Tech Wiki.)

Let me know what you think!

I really like the look of those headlights on your roadster. What's the make/model/part# for those?

I tested the strength of the starter with the car in gear.....in the garage.....with an ignition switch that doesnt spring back from the start position.........from outside the car.
