Nice, I have to touch my amber lenses up, as faded due to the sun. I will use a Tamiya model clear orange paint, which is very close to the original.
1965 Nissan Silvia (CSP311) for total restoration

Got all the lights, except for the high/low beam switch working with my new LED headlights. AND put the hood back on and lined up properly. The hood was a 3 man, 3 hour, 9 beer project! Used the emergency hood release, a piece of parachute cord run through the hood latch release and run up along the hood/cowl space to tweak the hood on exactly and I mean it had to be exactly right or the hood would jam. Saved a huge amount of aggravation.

Many have felt your pain with aligning their hoods (incl. me). It must be the only precision part on these roadstersTobyMan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 6:46 am Got all the lights, except for the high/low beam switch working with my new LED headlights. If mine wasn’t adjusted ‘just right’, the hood would pop open on every moderate sized bump in the road I hit
Congrats on the victory!

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Recently tackled the hood alignment on my 67 SPL. After several attempts of opening the hood, making minor adjustments, and closing the hood to check progress, I discovered that I was basically shooting in the dark and that gravity was not my friend when trying to make adjustments by myself with the hood open. Instead, I decided to remove the grill for access to the hinge bolts while the hood was closed. That simplified the process considerably. It also reminded me the R&R of the grill is not nearly as simple as one might think before attempting.
Ive seen normal. It aint pretty.

Yes, I got my top from Smoothline. It required over 1800 miles driven in three days. the top is missing some stuff, but I have it back and now have to restore it.
It was sad to see the shop shut down. Some really neat molds and tops there. A shame that it is going to be gone.

Wow, bummer that they are shut down. Did they give you notice and allow you to come get it, or did you find out some other way?

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Drove up to Mt Rainier today, found some great water falls and had a really nice drive... until we lost one of the fuel pumps! Fortunately it was on our way back home and we were able to coast into a large gas station parking lot. Before it happened I heard the high pressure EFI fuel pump start to whine at a stop light, and then she suddenly started going lean and stumbling. When I got her parked I could hear no sound from the low pressure pump that feeds the high pressure fuel pump tank, so I surmised that the low pressure pump had died. I happen to carry a replacement and before too long I had the back-up pump installed and wired up... but no go! I'd checked fuses etc but they were all good. The pump just made no noise. With no other options I called for a tow, but as we were waiting I decided to run a hot wire directly from the battery in the trunk to the fuel pump, and it worked! I quickly wired up a constant hot to the pump and attached it to the battery, and we were in business. Got her home, and tomorrow I'll figure out the wiring or pump or both. BUT, once again she got home under her own power! Did not leave us stranded! Can't beat that!
