Well let's say none of the body shops are knocking on my door :? Seriously, I think it looks pretty good for a home paint job if you don't look too hard :D
I made a $400 Earl Schieb paint job (granted, with decent bodywork so it was straight) look like a $4000 paint job by careful wet sanding and buffing to a mirror finish. If you have enough clear on it, do consider wet sanding and buffing. Use very fine sandpaper, a foam cutting disc and a couple different grades of polishing compounds and swirl remover with a decent buffer. Miguire and 3M offer great products. Talk to someone at an autopaint supply house, and if needed practice on something else before hitting the Datsun. Its work, but believe me, it is WELL worth it. DO talk to them about your particular paint however... I recently used a paint that was supposed to be cut and buffed very quickly after being sprayed, but instead I was told to wait for a week or so to allow the paint to dry. Turned out that paint hit fast and was too hard to cut and buff very easily after a week... I was FREAKING OUT, I could NOT get the swirls out (on a black car!). Finally used Eagle One Nano-wax... what a great product, problem solved. Best wax on the market as far as I am concerned.

Anyway, consider this given some research beforehand!

Oh yea, Greg I did all that, lots of hard work with the cut and buff. I would actually give myself a B or maybe even a B+ on the paint. Unfortunately going to have to take a C on my body work. There's not a panel on the car that doesn't have some filler on it. Since I know where to look I can see every ripple, apparently my hands are as numb as my mind, as I must of put filler on and then sanded it off 4 or 5 times for each dent. My hats off to those who can do flawless body work!

After WAY too much time understanding the path of electricity from A to B finally got my driving lights sorted.20180226_193021[1].jpg

Haha - I still have the late cleaner, also the steel wheels/hubcaps, steering wheel, shift knob, etc. for show-mode. Brian K’s video of running various cleaners on the dyno opened my eyes about the benefits of an early cleaner. Driving-mode (Libres, Pirelli’s, NISMO steering wheel) will be enhanced with the added HP and aural pleasure.

How will you know if there is an added increase on your roadster? Come by the shop let's dyno it!

Too chicken to dyno until I have a usable garage again.

So...
It finally got to be winter and I can stand not driving the roadster for a little bit. All thise items we hoped to do when we got Spike are moving ahead now.
Dash recap, heater restoration, carpet, vinyl refresh. Speedo cables.
Harness bar added to roll bar so proper safety belts can be installed.
Roll bar mounted fire extinguisher.
Be wrapped up in a few weeks.
Many thanks to all on the site who sent me info, written up what they have done in the past and sold us parts.
Much roadster love

ok lately what have I done to it , uhmmm learned and changed a u joint , got rear-ended 2 days after I got the chrome all back on from my paint job a year ago so, I'm finally getting to that and prepping the car for paint again . flat paint can't be "cut in" so going to wrap the car with fresh paint soon as I'm done prepping and fixing the dent . . I think I got ALL leaks stopped (maybe) . re prepped the dash better and hit it with truck bed liner spray for better results then not prepping well.. . I'm beginning to feel confident about my repair work on this baby . as things Don't re-break or stay fixed , confidence builds .
