I'm bring a 20U Solex set-up and a 20U SU from Denver CO.( 5200') to New York which is 400' in altitude. Has anyone done a re-jet, and if so what else needs to be addressed? More so with the Solex's. I'm currently searching for a large needle and jet assortment .

What is your engine set up now? The SU car will be fine for the most part, however the Solexs will need larger fuel jets. I'm at 280Ft, I'm running 34mm chokes, 200 air, 150 fuels, 60 pumps and 60 pilots. I am also bored .060 over and have a high flow exhaust and a big cam. Try 200 airs, 145 fuels and your standard pilots.

Will, why do you have such small on the chokes? I figured you would have gone for the 37s with the engine mods.

the 34s are what I have. The carbs came with them. I'd like a set of 37 or 40s. I've considered removing them all together.

I wanted to get a good starting point, and sounds like I have one. The Solex from what the PO has said, is running on the rich side anyway. It also still has a stock dist and coil ???, go figure..... I will run it on the street for a shake down, and see where that leads.

The Solex engine was built as a SCCA competion engine, pistons, rods, B cam, etc.. Don't know if they went over on the cylinders, but from what I hear she screams. Just have to get it here !

Anyone know of a good source for Solex parts ( jets, chokes, needles )?

WOLF CREEK RACING has jets, so does Malvern racing. You can find both online. Both know there stuff as well.

Anyone want to trade a set of big venturis for a set of 34s?

I got my Solex parts from Wolf Creek Racing, mainly gaskets, diaphrams, springs, etc. Todd is an easy guy to deal with, and I believe he is in New York. www.wolfcreekracing.com
