Firewall bracing for 66' 1600

Just found big cracks in firewall behind both master cylinder and clutch on my '66 1600. Any suggestions where I can get brace or what anyone's done and how to fix this. Also, anyone know how far back I can rebolt seats. On drivers side I see a strut that turns up just before back seat floor bar. Anyway to overcome that?
Thanks for any help.

Here is a brace that Dean sells. I have one on my car. Works great.

My 1500 had that ramp behind the drivers seat pummeled in and a new set of mounting holes drilled so that the seat could be further back.
Very agricultural "modification".
I guess all you can do is dismount the seat rails and see how far back you can move them before requiring a BFH

He said he had a 66, that part is for late cars only. There is currently none available for pre 1968 cars. I would suggest welding and then grind smooth so the master cylinder will mount flush again.

^^ Me too!
I think the brace is therefore for Dual master cylinder models with the "pocket" in the firewall.

I had a 66 that simply had a steel plate bolted to the firewall over the sheetmetal and the cylinders bolted through. There was a bolt on each corner to hold it to the firewall.

Your right. I forgot about the half year cars with their dual masters.

And I forgot that the 66 only had a single brake master. Epic fail.
