Been beat to death I know, but......anybody out there running 185/60-15 on a 15x7 +12.
I'm replacing 175/75-14 that came on the car and my speedo is very accurate with that size. Changing to a 15" wheel requires a 185/60-15 or 195/60-15 to keep tire dia the same. Just don't know if +12 offset on a 15x7 wheel with those tires will rub. Anybody?

In my experience the 195/60 will rub in the front at the fender lip.

HA!...dueling threads.
Just trying to keep tire dia the same for the sake of my speedo and I like how my current 175/75-14 fill the well. The offset must be the issue.
Thanks James.

No - it's the extra 20mm I think on the width. I'm not sure what the offset is on the stock wheels - does anybody know?
Cheers
James

Well my wheels are not truly stock, they were a dealer option 14x4.5 or 5 trans am style mesh alum center steel rim.

Online tire calculator says 185 tread too small for 7"wheel, recommends 5-6.5" wheel.
Also creepy thing is my tires on the car now, (175/75-14) are not even recognized or available at any of major tire stores ie; Discount tire, Tirerack, Lester Schwabster. Wierd

I have 195/50 15 tires on a non lowered car. They fit the front fine.
The rears might need some working.
My rears are not stock and still need some additional working to get 205/50 15 to clear.
I tried the 195/50 on the rear before the "work" and they would still need some working......
I would assume 195/60 would be worse for fit.

i think you will be fine if the car is on stock springs, it's ok to run the 185/60/15 tire, it's a relatively large sidewall in that size.

205 50 15 on the front with comp springs with no issues, 225 50 15 on the rear but the rear flairs have been replaced and curved.
