Hi all
I want to remove the old under coating and apply new. Does anyone know an easy way to removed the old under coating under the body? I have used steel brush to remove it, work fine but take too much time and pain… is there a method to remove it? :(

Thanks

Mark Sedlack a guy on the other "roadster list" used dry ice with a lot of success. You place the dry ice on the areas you want to remove the under coating from and let it sit for a frew minutes and then whack it with a hammer. It comes off in chunks. The Eastwood Company also sells a product for removing under coating. I have never used it yet but they sell very good restoration products. Yet another roadster fanatic used DE-SOLV-IT purchased from the local Ace Hardware store. He had excellent results with it. So there you have three choices.

Using dry ice is not a bad idea, it probably works great too, but I can’t think of a way to apply the ice under the car without it falling off… So I think I will try DE-SOLV-IT. Steve, thank you for the info. :D

IIRC, the dry-ice method was used on frame-off restores - no body in the way, so you can apply the ice on top.

You could try the cans of "air" used to clean electronics for small spots, If you hold the can upside down, it sprays liquid freon, VERY COLD.
