Blue Lake OR. Datsun Show Sunday 8-12-12.
Another fine Blue Lake Show. Over a hundred Datsuns (and those Nissans!).
The official DROPS Roadster counter reported 16 Roadsters!
A good turnout from DROPS. 3 roadsters and 2 trucks and 4 awards among us!
HOT (for us PNW wimps). mid 90's.
Even a RARE appearance of the Burrows Roadster in Public!
Good to see Enrique in his fine roadster but we missed Bill Cole. Must have been too hot for him.
Shifty and "SCRAPS" were there and he tried to unload some very worn high windshield parts.
Ted.

From the front, Roadsters of Joe, Enrique and Shifty.

Gary W's nice low windshield in the middle. Best Low Windshield award.

Kevin Reid's nice conversion.

The Greg Burrows roadster.

Very nice early KA conversion with "unfortunate" wheels.

17"!

John Wallum's excellent restoration. Best High Windshield award.

Wayne Leuth's 64 NL320. A roadster hood scoop on the truck hood!. I like it.

My 1963 NL320 (from BOB2). Made the 370 mile RT with no major problems. 58 mph on the Freeway @ 4000rpm.
60 HP and 4.88 rear end is not Freeway Friendly!.

That's really great. Are there more pics of Burrows front end? Looks pretty cool the way he finished it without a bumper.

Thanks Garm, appreciate that! I added the gold color mesh in the open holes after Shasta. I may need to redo them as they don't stand out as well as I wanted. The driving lights really help with my terrible headlights though and were a perfect match for the bumper hole. The air dam is from Dean, fitted as I did the bodywork, very pleased with that piece once it was adjusted to the car.

I have some gold anodized mesh that would look good and stand out on your car, let me know if you are interested.
Pm your addy, and I'll send you some.

Thanks guys! Roman, I would love some! Happy to pay for the shipping. Like most of us, after 27 years of ownership and driving I still have lots of stuff to do to mine. I can imagine that people who have seen the car over these many years still go "good lord, when is he gonna do something with the interior?". I've never had a big chunk of cash to throw at it at one time, and usually performance trumps looks on my list. Driving back from the show, I note the clutch engages too high, the steering idler needs to be rebushed, the exhaust is vibrating just a bit so the mount needs attention, and now my nice newer reduction starter is giving me some trouble, or maybe it's the battery? It didn't want to engage sometimes and would click like my old stock one did only faster... Might be a connection... But you all know what I mean! Seeing the cool RX7 LSD rear ends at the show, wanting a better clutch and maybe an even lighter flywheel, needing to fix the minor rear main leak and the weepy water pump backing plate etc etc makes me want to pull the motor this winter. I would like to DRIVE the darn thing some more though... Watching my mail daily for the over seas shipment notice! Summer just got here!

Great pics Ted, that pick-up looks neat. If I had the choice between your roadster or the pick-up and a few hours of freeway time, I probably would have whimped out and taken the roadster.
