Watkins Glen 2012 Sept 7-8th
After many years of great events, Elaine Halstead retired last year. As no one else expressed interest and it's a month away, Joe Russo and I are organizing it this year. It is, depending on how you count, either 25th or 25th annual gathering, original posters attached, thanks to Mike Jennings.
Details are being hammered out, so far we have the Show and Shine at the usual location, and awards dinner at the Watkins Glen State park pavilion. We should have everything set by this weekend.
If you are coming and haven't received an Email yet, please let us know. As things develop, there will be details here, Ratsun, and by Email to everyone on last years list.
Thanks
You can contact me by PM, or email daveandlindab@verizon.net
or Joe Russo http://www.311s.org/phpBB3/ucp.php?i=pm ... ose&u=1751

Watkins Glen 2012 Sept 7-8th UPDATES
A warning for first timers...If you don't have a place to stay, get one soon, it is either booked or will be very soon anywhere nearby. PM me or Joe if you need some assistance.
We have been getting a great response from our regular vendors and some new ones, They've come through with some top notch raffle prizes. As always, the tradition of people bringing stuff to contribute to the raffle, and sometimes winning your own stuff back, continues, but with this added Schwag, it's getting interesting.
Dinner plans are being finalized. Details to follow this weekend on dinner, Tshirt ordering etc.

Re: Watkins Glen 2012 Sept 7-8th
We are getting a TREMENDOUS response from our Roadster Vendors, I'm totally amazed by the enthusiasm with which they are shipping large amounts of really cool stuff out to us, some WAY beyond expectations. Waiting for the last few responses, only sent the Email to them Wednesday but it's close to 90% so far. So, even though most people reading this won't be attending, the vendors generosity should be known to everyone.
Damn, glad Garm won't be there, he's such a nit picker. Oh, did I type that out loud?
I should go back and edit it.
OK, my math skills are showing, I meant to say that either last year was the 25th and this the 26th, or this year will be the 25th Annual. We could have split the difference and do it last March, but it's cold as Hell up there.Garm wrote:I guess that makes it the 25th annual gathering.depending on how you count, either 25th or 25th annual gathering

Re: Watkins Glen 2012 Sept 7-8th
Just some more details for the Saturday shown-n-shine. We will be meeting at the usual place, Watkins Glen State Park, parking lot on Franklin St (the main drag). Time TBD but early!
You will have to pay $8 to enter the park (for show-n-shine or for dinner). One payment gets you into the park all day so save your parking stub. This will also allow you access to the pavilion for dinner. We have the pavilion from sun up to sun down. So, you can park there all day, use it as a launch point for fun runs, or just hang out, enjoy the park and relax.

Show and Shine
Captain Lawrence Brewing Best of Show, East Coast Roadster Peoples Choice and a secret mystery benefactor are sponsoring awards
We will a few different classes, mostly because I forgot what the classes were last year. It should be fun, Same place, Lower parking lot on Franklin ave., Rain location at the Pavilion at Watkins Glen State Park. We have the Pavilion all day, admission includes use of the pool.
Dinner
The Pavillion requires us to buy insurance for the event, so that adds a bit of expense and paperwork. Joe is getting this done, but at this time, dinner will be the same as last year, $20.00 per person.
Raffle
We will have 2 raffles this year, the traditional pot luck raffle where we all bring stuff to donate, (Roadster related or just plain fun stuff.) and then a separate one for the donated prizes from our sponsors.
The vendors have responded with some great prizes. Some familiar, Ross from Sports Imports, Dean from Datsunparts, Tom from East Coast Roadster, Stan Chernoff, Don Morell we all have probably heard of, and some are newer to the Roadster group and not as familiar.
I metMike and Ross at Solvang this year, great guys
Mike from Datsunland Socal is sending a TON of brand new weather stripping and rubber pieces he manufacturers.
Ross from Sports Imports has body patch panels on the way.
East Coast Roadster is sending prizes and sponsoring some awards
Del from Vintage connections is sending a connector kit and some GREAT crimpers, I’ve used his stuff for years
Captain Lawrence Brewery is sending some beer with Vince and sponsoring Best of Show
Dean has a package on the way, not sure what yet
Stan Chernoff sent a brake brace and some manuals
Don from Rising Sun sent a prize pack.

Re: Watkins Glen 2012 Sept 7-8th
We don't have a paypal set up anyway. You can mail me a check, but I have to figure shipping costs. If you reserve one, just send an Email with your address. I'll be shipping themto Watkins Glen, then sending to non-attendees after the event, won't have them in hand until Sept 6th.RCMike wrote:On T shirts, will you take credit cards or PayPal only..
