What a perfect and practical little project!
Looks like it's in pretty darn good shape for its vintage.

Datsun should have kept the 73' front sheetmetal throughout the run. So much nicer looking than the 74' up.

Someone told me that about the 73. I'm not an afficianado. I bought it from a friend whose mother in law was the original owner and drove it until she was 91. Then they parked it. It really was driven by a little old lady it's entire life.

It's good for my son as he's a musician, I just hope he doesn't mess it up! I'm taking it to JCCS!

Nice find. are those mirror plugs on top of the front fenders?

Yes they are. I'm looking for a set of fender mirrors. The original door mirrors are gone, so it would be nice to put those on instead. Anyone have a set they are willing to part with?

The whole reason I got a '73 620PU was to haul my drums (is your son a drummer?)... little did I know that purchase would start me down the whole Roadster road. Wish I still had that truck... Put in an L20B, cam, SUs, MSD, performance dizzy, exhaust, lowered, 200sx dog-legg 5 speed... except for the drum brakes all around it was a great truck, and still cool looking after all these years. Learned everything on that little puppy... fond memories... I keep an eye out for her on Craigslist, even though it has been 25 years since I sold her... ya never know!

Great car... I still think the old Datsuns had more style that has lasted through the years than most cars of that time...

He's a guitarist, with a custom 5 foot tall speaker cabinet.
Here's his band.

Check these out... Pretty cheap and period correct... Even if they are Lucas...

As far as I know, all 610's came with holes in the fenders for mirrors, with plastic plugs if the mirrors weren't fitted.

Definitely all sold in Australia were like that, plugs in the fenders and mirrors on the doors instead.
