Hi all,
Im new to the forum and to Datsuns. I was looking at buying 510 wagon until I saw the Roadster..Now I definitely want to buy a Roadster to drive and semi-restore. Very excited to start. I know it gonna be a long project so Im looking for a good-starter. What do you all think about this one?

Welcome to the forum.

The asking price seems reasonable to me. You can find drivable cars for less, but this one seems to be in pretty decent shape.

If you plan to restore it to original there are some things that aren't correct, but nothing major as far as I can tell.

Good Luck!

Welcome!
Before you buy anything, I would determine what you want. Low windshield or High, and 1600 or 2000.
This car is a low windshield 1600 - is this what you want?
If so, I agree it's a good solid looking car and the price seems reasonable, as all the important bits appear to be there - except for the gas cap.

Thanks for the input guys. The low winshield is what I was looking for. A '67.5 would be nice, w/ passing power but not really necessary. Just really want something in decent shape.. He did say over the phone he would take $5k. And thats w/o even looking it over yet. I will drive up and look at tonight after work. Owner did say that he did start engine today and that it wont hold idle..it shuts off after approx 30 sec. or so. Possible fuel filter/pump? Not sure

Just beware, it's tough to guage a value from pictures, so definitely see the car in person. Perhaps you can get a knowledgeable owner here to join you for a peek to help judge the value. Any local San Diego owners available??
