Bay Area Fun Run in August

Post by Alvin »

I wanted to get the ball rolling on a fun run for folks in the Bay Area either in August or Sept. I can throw some ideas around but I'd really like for someone else to do all the planning :P

So, any suggestions on:

1) Destinations
2) routes
3) meeting time/dates?

I'm always down for coastal runs, but I think the East Bay hills, Napa/Sonoma, and even the South(Gilroy/Hollister/Livermore) would be really fun.

Perhaps Dave_Car_Guy would consider doing the Blackhawk / Diablo run again. No threat of rain until October.

Napa/Sonoma! Yes yes yes!

I won't be ready in August (not so secret project) but could do Sept/Oct. run

Unless there's a Roadster for sale up there.

Not sure of any good roads, but I'm down for it! Something with good photo ops.

I can organize something and propose a location, route and timing. Our April Pescadero run worked out pretty well.

What kind of duration and mileage would you guys be interested in?

* a few hours - <100 miles 1 -2 stops along the way to hang out
* 1/2 day - >100 miles - several stops along the way including a bite to eat
* whole day adventure - roll early or meet up along the way with a specific target destinations and timing in mind. lots of stops for food, gas, photos, etc

With some guidelines I can come up w/ some options.

Thank You Mike for volunteering to organize.

We need to get the date ironed out first I think.
After that its pretty much cake..

If we did September I would prefer the weekend of the 8th or 22nd... I could plan a week in the city and go to a Giants game :) I could probably go other dates too tho. Napa/Sonoma would be closer for those of us in the upstate part of northern California...
