SHASTA Datsun Roadster meet is next week!. Who is going?
Have not read much discussion about this fine show.
Who is going?. If not, WHY not!.
Close enough for you S. CA roadster folk.
I plan to be there but have not heard of any other DROPS or BC folks going.
Let's support this great roadster show.
This show was the biggest for many years and I have many wonderful memories of
it being my introduction to the roadster community and attending starting in the mid 90's.

If I make the trip it would be a last minute decision. My arm could be twisted if some other Bay Area folks were making the drive.

Gotta say it, terrible promotion on this event. Someone could easily miss knowing about Shasta and not much excitement about it either. In contrast the Canadian event, Datsun Matsouri, was nicely advertised, and attended.

Maybe that lil orange 67 would make it. i could trade Alvin for the white 67.5, then he could flipit to Matt.

one week? That snuck up fast.

I have ben thinking of going for a few years and this is the year.

I'm leaving San Diego area Tuesday AM with a couple stops up the coast on the 101. Taking 89/395 route home through the Sierras. 1500 mile round trip.

It will be a lot of driving but the cars ready and I'm excited!

I have gone the last 3 yrs. Last year they had it in the Hotel parking lot. Just not enough people attended I guess? 2yrs before it was in the park and much nicer and better. Not sure if going this year my copilot has to work. Live close enough that I would go Sat. for a day trip. If anyone from around here/ or passing through wants to go for a Shasta Sat. drive PM me.

Well, none of my Canadian friends are going it seems, so it may be just Damn it Bill and a few others from the Northwest. I need to get (yes) more jets for the carbs, but I expect she will be dialed in a bit closer for the trip. I hope more interest is created, as it would be good to see folks again. I plan on a Weds launch, staying with friends in OR weds then to Shasta Thurs sometime.

It used to be that this was pretty much the only big west coast show. Solvang existed but was not as big a draw. Now it seems that this has changed some. Are people getting tired of the area? Not sure where else might be "better" or more interesting and still within striking range. I also have not checked prices on hotels, but in the past their prices have been, well, steep for what you get. I've stayed in 5 star resorts in Mexico for less, but I am spoiled by some special deals I get.
I think the thing I like best about Shasta is driving with a group of Roadsters to a destination, a reunion of cars. Listening to the motors resonating together sounds like the drone of fighter planes. Hope some of you show up.

I can't afford to attend two shows, and Solvang is two hours from my house. Wife loved it, and wants to go again next year. 'nuff said.

I know how beautiful Shasta is, and I'd love to bring the Roadster to it once; but not this year.

If I was thinking about driving up, could I just show up and register?

Because I'm thinking about driving up... Have not made a decision yet..

Yes. Day of meet registration is OK.
Not sure about the dinner tickets as that may have to be decided earlier.
