New Guy From The Northwest

Hi all, just turned poster from lurker and thought I'd introduce myself. I have a 70 1600 that I got in 1988, drove it a few years and decided to completely take it apart, repaint and rebuild everything as a father /son project. Sound familiar? Anyway, I had started the process while I was in college, and needless to say, she got ditched until recently, stored in a garage in Arizona, in pieces and in various stages of rebuilted-ness...
I've always liked cars/mechanics, but I've been into diesels and waste vegetable oil conversions for some time - I'm really looking forward to driving something that doesn't smell like french fries.
I just got my roadster back together and up here to Portland - just in time for summer. I'm in the process of installing the interior and trying to get her running worth a pinch, but that's a different story.
I look forward to "seeing everyone".
-Ray

Welcome Ray! If you get that old feeling for compression ignition, an SD22 out of an 84ish 720 pickup and the 5 speed bolted behind it, should basically bolt in!

My Wife saw that truck, she really, likes it. Lucky for me it wasn't for sale, as I want it too.

Thanks for the warm welcome, it sure is cozy in here.
I actually knew a guy with a diesel king cab - I had an 83 gasser. Getting parts for that diesel motor was actually worse than parts for a diesel Ranger I had. I would love to squeeze a 300d engine into a roadster though. Provided there is a three foot extention on the tailpipe...

Parts for the diesel engine should be readily available at the nearest Nissan forklift store.

Well who knows, maybe if you and the turbo D truck at Solvang got in touch with each other you could find a path for one of those finding it's way into a Roadster!

Welcome! I'm new to roadsters, but I've been driving on wvo for the last decade. Check out my latest conversion:

I've been having a blast with the roadster, but it is a weird feeling to go to the gas station again.
