Picked up a 1969 Datsun Roadster 2000 - Nor Cal.

Post by scarpelli916 »

I am new to the site! why am I here making this annoying post to all you Roadster pros??? Well it started two years ago when I fell in love with my brother in laws daily driver... A 1967 1/2 Datsun Roadster 1600 that he had rescued 6 years ago. about a year after my love affair with his roadster my neighbor pushed a little 69 Datsun Roadster out of her garage and into her front yard putting a for sale sign in the front window. I was shocked and excited so I quickly made an offer and purchased the roadster the next day. I have owned the 1969 Datsun Roadster 2000 for almost a year now and I am currently restoring her back to her glory. The seller was the second owners widow who's husband had purchased the car used in 1970. The car sat for 7 years and I was shocked that my father in law and myself were able to get her running with only a weekend of work getting the fluids flushed and brakes up to par. Before the owner passed away he rebuilt the entire motor along with the transmission/clutch. I have all documentation for the vehicle since new. I have been logging on and viewing all of your extremely useful information and tips during my restoration and I am extremely thankful! I am looking forward to meeting some of you while attending all of the Datsun swap meets, shows and bbq's I have been reading about. I am including a picture of my Datsun from the day I first laid eyes on her lol YES! the sellers husband had the cars color changed from datsun color code 666 silver to this horrible MG wannabe green! no worries she is being repainted this June to the original datsun silver code 666!

Re: New Memeber From Nor Cal - 1969 Datsun Roadster 2000

Oh and I just found this roadster while on a bike ride a few weekends ago. I left a few notes for the owner so hopefully I will hear back soon and add this beauty to my Garage! She looks to be 100% complete from what I could tell... possibly an older 80's/90's restore job??

Wow, two great finds. I can't believe how good the chrome looks on the red one, since it is sitting outside!
Both look solid.
Welcome to the forum and post more pics!

That would be great I was a bit worried about heading out solo but hopefully I can get my brother in law and his 67.5 and anyone else in the Nor Cal area to tag along. That would be a blast and I like the safety in numbers!

Hope you make it to Solvang. I like the green color. You will see many non stock colors at Solvang.

Safety in numbers? I thought that was just for someone else to take my picture. Especially afer reading the thread "Have you ever been stranded"...
