Factory roll bar mounting

I managed to find the mounting holes under the carpet, but I am a loss as to what bolts fit. M10x1.25 seems close in thread, but the diameter seems a hair too small. Perhaps it might be SAE? 3/8 is too small and 7/16 is too big. What would be a comparable thread pitch?

On a second note, anyone know of a durable do-it yourself finish for a roll bar? The cheapest quote for sandblasting and powdercoating came back as $150. Since the old paint flaked off easily with a little scraping, I could paint it myself. Any recommendations on primer and paint? I heard good things about hammertite and I'm also thinking about appliance epoxy paint.

Hey Steve,
I have used Hammerite a good bit, but grabbed the 'hammered' finish can off the shelf at Home Depot, so all the floor pans look puckered, but they certanly don't rust, it works great.
See if you can find out how expensive for blasting and zinc primering only, (the lite green stuff, I believe it is zinc chromate primer?) and we can paint yours and mine together.... I have access to a spray booth. In fact ask how much for blast and primer both, we might get a deal for two...

With a little trial and error, I found that the mounting bolts are 7/16x20t. I'm going to try painting it myself to save money with outdoor epoxy spray. The old paint and primer cleaned up real easily. I saw the hammerite, but not in black. I'm not too fond of the hammered finish either. If the paint doesn't stay on, then I may have it painted/powdercoated.
