I think it depends on the year what trim type is up there.
It would be good to get answer what trim came on each year.

Don't know about pre-70, but 70 comes with similar weather strip to the side stripping without the 'tube'

Certain earlier cars came with a chrome strip, but I have no idea which.

Perhaps owners of each year could chime in and get this sorted, then into the wiki,

mine is just "the car metal " there with the carpet kit rolling over that rim that's on the inside of that area . probably why water can get in sometimes . haha duh .
oh and what goes between the car and soft top in the back area of the cab ? where the snaps and teardrop hooks go ? I have allot of cold wind coming through the gap . . yep in this "freeze" we have going I actually put the top up on it .

I use an o-ring on my universal joints. It is nice because it stays in the position i put it in.
what is this universal joint everyone is talking about

found so me of this at AutoZone yesterday , I'll put it up where the top meets car and I'm missing trim . sorry , good camera already messed up . dropped my phone in the bathtub the other day .
