These things are so fun to drive. Wiper motor replacement, not so much fun.
I got a 70 1600. Pretty stock, except the paint, and some dated rims I hope to be replacing soon. I got a spare 1600 with it, I love to find out about some fun mods for an upgraded motor.
I have limited internet, so I'm slow to respond sometimes. THanks, I look foward to learning these cool little cars.

Welcome to the forum. Funny, wiper motors hardly ever go bad, which is a good thing.
Nice van, they have character.

Hi there. You'll find there's a pretty good bunch of people from Oregon and Washington frequenting this forum. Everyone's very helpful and pretty patient (luckily for me).
Welcome.

ok, first dumb question: No seatbelts installed, and it appears that one bolts to the inner wall near the console, the other side by the door to the seat?

That was an interesting one, The PO left off the two lower mounting bolts and the force from the linkage caused the motor and bracket to shift about a 1/2 inch with the linkage out of location it couldn't complete its cycle and destroyed the gears inside.
I love my van too.

In the sill on the outboard side, not to the seat. Its easier to see if you slide the seat forward all the way.

Welcome! My first car was a 1967 1600, bought in 1970. Here it is 41 years later, and I just bought a 1969 2000 that needs a lot of work. I don't think you can ever get over these cars!
